How to male make button up shirt yoke pattern

Is that a question or a statement? In both cases it would be nice to know more about it.

yes i was asking how to draft a yoke in this app, i am following this tutorial (pic1) to draft a button up shirt, where he cut off curtain sizes from the front panel and back panel and rotated the front panel and put them together to create that shape, i don’t know how to achieve this move in seamly2d, i knew there are functions like “mirror” “move” “rotate” but i just can’t get it to work, been sit here for literally a day to trying to figure this out.

If I understand your problem you need to take a part of front piece and attach it to the back piece (or vice versa)

  • f is shoulder point of front piece
  • A9 is shoulder point of back piece

(it would easier if they are on the same spot, but they are not)

To achieve what you want you need manipulate “points and curves”:

  • f, front, front_yoke2, front_yoke
  • and two curve

manipulation goes in this sequence:

  • create a line f_A9
  • move “points and curves” to the new position, using next values
    • Angle > angle of line f_A9
    • Lenght > lenght of line f_A9
    • rotation > (angle of line A9_back) - (angle of line f_front)
  • mirror “points and curves” over line A9_back

If some lines are turned around, i.e. f_front is front_f you need to add 180° in the formula, or adapt formula as needed. I often need to sketch angles on paper to visualise and get them right.

If you are missing some lines or points you draw them, or use “history” to add them into the right timeline.

I don’t have a pattern like that in my archive. If I find the time, I will do a walkthrough. Or maybe someone else will chime in. I’m sure at least a few people have something useful to contribute.

In the meantime, you can attach your pattern and the accompanying measuring file, which will make it easier for anyone to work with.

It seems to me that you already have the front yoke drafted in your image - it’s only on the right instead of on the left - and the image doesn’t show if you’ve marked the bottom curve of the yoke.

The shoulder section needs to be mirrored along the shoulder line (Front - f) using the Mirror by Line tool and then moved and rotated so that the Front & Back and the f & A9 points meet using the Move & Rotate tool.

The move angle will be the angle of the line f-A9, the distance will be the distance between f & A9 and the rotation angle will be the line A9-Back minus the line f-Front
