Importing OBJ

Yes… if the conversion script is not writing the tag name correctly as the tag is part of the schema and has to match exactly.

Not sure why only the pm_system is using the underscore while all the other tags use the dash? Another one of those Seamly mysteries. :slight_smile: Personally I would have preferred all tag names and attributes in camelCase with no underscore OR dash as it is in Seamly2D.

@Pneumarian This is great! Thank you! It works now. And just to make it clear to anyone who might run into this same issue; all the required, minimum changes to the file were:

<Version>0.3.3</Version> to <version>0.3.4</version>

Also, <pm-system>998</pm-system> to <pm_system>998</pm_system>

Thanks @samitapani… I’ll make sure to bring it up at next week’s meeting that the script needs to be updated.

I’m using polycam which is a phone app. Seems to work fairly well although the last few scans I’ve had scaling issues. Also, I’m not that proficient at cleaning up the scan once done. 3dmeasureup does work pretty well though.

FIXED! The 3DLook conversion has been updated to use the latest SeamlyMe file version and the latest 3DLook measurements.

@Emilyli, are you happy with the 3DMeasureup Seamly file? It creates a SeamlyMe file in .vit format so its a bit out of date. Can you share your file with us?

it’s definitely out of date but the 3dmeasureup is so much more affordable for me at this point. i just take screenshots and measurements and add them manually. tomomi.vit (2.5 KB)

@Emilyli Please open your tomomi.vit file and save it using Save As to an .smis file! Thanks :smiley:

3DMeasureUp is the most accurate, but their free option doesn’t provide all the measurements they need. Even I have to pay for it! So I do what you do and take a screenshot then use a free OCR read text from image online site to get the data :smiley: Here’s one that’s actually free to use and allows download as searchable PDF, otherwise just copy the text the output box and save to notepad: https://ocr.spac

@emilyli

Yes that is recomended. While Seamly will still currently open the “v” file formats there is no guarantee it will continue to do so. Resaving in the new format will save one from having to find an older version to convert. Also there have been a few updates in the smis file format
