Hi everyone! I have a problem with a pattern I’ve drafted for use with a multi-size file, and I just don’t know what to do about it; any ideas of what to try would be very welcome!
Basically, it’s fine for all sizes up to a size 52, but for any sizes above that I’m getting this message:
…basically as the sizes get bigger, it means the angle of the line takes the end of the line past the end of the hip curve, so they can’t intersect any more. I have no idea what to do to remedy this, and I’m worried I’ll have to re-draft the whole thing!
Hi @hayleyneil, Unfortunately the short answer is that you have to use formulae for more of your tools.
I appears that you drafted for only one single size, & anything outside something pretty close to those ratios has the “seamline” diagonal going into the armscye &or past the hip.
My own relative expertise in achieving a specific desired effect is not sufficient to track what’s going on, hopefully one of the others will be able to give you some real help.
You already have points in the places where you’re placing the “NewSeam” points. Wouldn’t it work if you just used lines to connect A94 to the A52 rotations?
On looking again, I see the above won’t work. Sorry.
What you could do (if it fits your plan) is to draw a line from A94 to A52_a16 and the do an if, the, else condional statement in the formula box.
size<54?325°:AngleLine_A94_A52_a16
What this will do is it will adjust for sizes up to size 52. From 54 upwards, it will anchor at A52_a16.
That’s all that I can think of for your pattern as it is. If this doesn’t work, perhaps you shouls look at how the curve is made at A52 and then rotated. Perhaps it’s not resizing enough or nor long enough.
