Hello and welcome to the Seamly forum, @JaniceLcollier

I think that most of us know how to make children’s patterns. I think we’ll be better able to help you if you are more specific about what you would like to know, please.

I think “make” can be different than “draft” whenit comes to patterns. I would when needed at the shop make childrens patterns, but I can’t say I ever drafted childrens patterns… at least not in the terms of using a drafting system for children sizes. More often than not it was usually “making” a pattern by adjusting an existing commerical pattern.

I once had to make a puppet sized jumpsuit to go along with the full size jumpsuits we did for the revival of Rocketship 7, a local kids TV show back in the early 90’s.

While I have in theory, I have not verified that any(?) of my patterns work for children. I have verified that a few drafted on adult measurements do work fine for a 15inch doll of child proportions.

Thing is while adults mainly grade based on girth… children grade more based on height Chances are if you grade an adult size down to a childs chest size, it’s going to be too short.

There is an Aldrich book for drafting childrens clothes that many people use
