Curves are straight lines in Detail mode?

I am currently trying to make a pocket pattern for a pair of pants, however, when I select the points and the curve for the detail and layout, the curve is not showing up. It is simply drawing a straight line. Is there perhaps something I am doing wrong? (Images below for reference)

Hi, please read this. A curve ends up as a straight line in the details tab.
