How do I delete a mirror event? When I try to delete the mirrored points nothing happens.

If you have used the mirror in a pattern piece, you will need to delete this pattern piece.
And any nodes created on the mirrored section will also need to be deleted including any lines from any of the nodes.
Once you have deleted all of these, the Delete will become visible in the Options menu and you will be able to delete it.
If you have used any of the nodes from the mirror in formulas, you will be given a chance to undo or edit the formula before the delete is complete.

Thanks. I wonder if it would be worth having the program tell people what it is that’s preventing deletion of something? Maybe enable the deletion button but then when its clicked show a dialog like “Deletion Failed: Pattern piece ‘LeftCuff’ must be deleted first.”
