I posted a PDF here on how to do the curves, it’s the method that I use. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
If you have an understanding of trigonometry, then you can definitely try them. I don’t, so I have a specific few that people have helped me with that I do use, which work very well to replace the arcs/intersect arcs, but helping on the forum, most people shy away from algebra & trig so I tend to not advise them, because I won’t be able to explain them nicely.
I do advise using the conditional statement and use it extensively myself.
All to well… in fact I’ll never forget the day we had a final examine in my college Physics class when the batteries went dead in my calculator. I asked the Prof if I could borrow his, but someone else was already uisng it. I had to do trig the old fashion way - look up the values in the tables - as well as calcuate everything on paper. I think I had to do square root by hand too.
Also since I’ve been drafting since I was 13-14 using the standard 45 and 30/60 (3-4-5) triangles - I know the geometery & trig on them inside and out.
That being said there are other non trig math functions that can be useful.. like abs, min, max, rint, sqrt, sign. Thanks to @evans there are usage & examples for all the functions… only bad part is the way RT constructed the function vars the usage & examples for the functions are in English only and can not be translated. Will take an overhaul of the variables section to seprate the examples from the (function) variables text.
