I recently downloaded Seamly2D from the link that was sent to me by email after I registered on the website. The installation worked fine, but I have a problem with exporting files.
When I go to File → Save As, the only option I see is Pattern Files (.sm2d). I cannot save or export in any other format. The File → Export As option appears greyed out (inactive), so I cannot click it.
Is this a limitation of my installation, or am I missing something? Could it be related to the version I downloaded (maybe because I am downloading from Turkey), or do I need to install an additional module/plugin to enable export?
No limitation. You just need to understand how Seamly2D works. The Export As… menu only exports layouts. In order for the File->Export As menu to work you first have to draft a pattern, then make your pattern pieces, then create a Layout. Once a layout has been created, the Export As menu is enabled and you can then export the layout.

It should be noted that Tiled PDF’s can only be exported from the Export As menu, or in Layout mode. Also many users will export as SVG from Piece mode so they can manualy arrange the layout, or create nested pattern in another app such as Inkscape.
That being said - we should probably change the Export As… text to Export Layout As…
