Formula error:inch only with perpendicular tool

When I use f(x) to select a measurement with the perpendicular tool Seamly 2D won’t allow it and says Formula error:inch at the top. Both the pattern and the SeamlyMe files are in inches. None of the other tools give me a problem. I can manually enter numbers, but I don’t want to do that because I don’t have the real measurements yet. Weirdly, I’m pretty sure I did exactly the same thing two days ago but decided to delete the line at that time.

Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Thank you!

Updated to add, I am now also having this problem with the Point On Line tool. I’ve used this tool multiple times already on the existing pattern so I don’t understand why this is happening now.

I have figured this out. You need to double-click on the measurement and it appears that most of the time I was doing this, but evidently not always.
