Hide everything that is not part of a group

Fairly simple question, is there any way to show/hide anything that is not part of a specific group?

I normally have a group called “Xtra” that I put all of those things that don’t belong anywhere in & then I hide the group.

No. An object has to be in a group to be able to hide it.

Maybe a future addition could be to automatically place any new objects into a “default” group when it’s created? In other words an object would always belong to a group. Would also have the benefit that ALL objects could be viewed in the Objects list.
