How to square out and place point at intersect on existing line

Hello! I am drafting the easy fitting trouser trouser block by Winefred Aldrich and I was wondering if you had any notion as to how I could perform the following instruction:

I’ve joined 8 to 12 and now want to square across from 4 to mark a point 13 on the line, tried playing with the tools but can’t find the right thing.

Please if you could offer some guidance :slight_smile:

Actually I managed to just square out from 14 to Sq1 and then used the Point - Intersect Lines tool to grab it.

I will have to add a point along the line for the back piece as well so thats there for me.

If you can suggest a better way for me to perform this that would be great <3

Use the tool Point - Intersect Line & Axis (L,A). Click on A8, then A12 & then A4. Holding down the Shift key, drag towards the right to direct the line to 0° from the point A4.

This way is a bit cleaner.

L, X… L, A is Point - Line and Angle

@Stephanie_C

Also to note if you hold the shift key while swinging the axis it will contrain it to 45° intervals… so it’s easy to hit 0°. Saves you from having to edit the angle value when it’s like 0.004. :slight_smile:
