Importing dxf file error occurred parsing element

Hi everyone, am really new to Seamly2D and even to digital pattern. While tryng to import a dxf file downloaded from cloud, got a message

Exception:error occurred while parsing element

Hello and welcome to the Seamly forum, @Jcimp

Seamly won’t open a DXF file, you’ll need a different software to open it, like Inkscape. Seamly will generate a DXF file, for cutting, printing or editing in an external program, from the drafting that was done in Seamly.

You need a Seamly2D pattern file and a SeamlyMe measurement file to open the pattern in Seamly to edit it.

Hi Grace, thanks for answer. This mean that it is not possible to import or open a file in another extension?

Correct. Seamly uses measurements and variables in formulas which are not contained in any other format.
