Individual mesurements

I have put my personal measurements in the seamlyme, but when I select a specific measurement, it does not translate to the draft. I really do not know what I am doing wrong, so I have changed the measurement when needing to use a specific measurement.

thank you,

Did you load your measurement file (saved in SeamlyME) into the Seamly2D software?

If not, go: Menu > Measurements > Individual Select the new measurement that you saved & hit OK

Then, in Seamly2D when you create a line, click on the f(x) button to open the formula editor and choose the required measurement from the list by double-clicking on it:

Hit OK to close the formula wizeard and then OK again to accept the changes & to close the tool properties editor.

Thank you, not sure if I saved them into the seamly software, I will check tomorrow.

Thank you again.

Thank you Grace for your reply.

So I have several measurement charts saved in Seamlyme software. I have opened the appropriate one, and loaded it. when I press the Fx key to add the measurement into the draft pattern, it brings the appropriate one up but in the formula box, the measurement is different from the intended value: but when checking the measurement chart, it is correct in the calculated and formula boxes. I am correctly them as I go along, but not really sure what is happening.

thank you Sue

I value your comments.

Are you working with an individual measurement chart? Or are you working with a Multisize measurement chart?

If you’re using a Multisize, then check that the size in the bottom right is the same as in your measurement chart in SeamlyMe.

If it isn’t the same, then it will be adding or deducting increments according to the size.

HINT If you go to the Menu > File > Pattern Preferences, the Heigths and Sizes tab, then you can set the pattern preferences:

At Custom, I always set it to the Base size in SeamlyME. This way, each time you open the pattern, it will automatically change the size to the base size.

I guess this info will be helpful if you’re using a multisize measurements file, but if you’re using an individual size, please let me know so that I can reply again.

Thank you for your reply. I am using an individual custom measurements at the moment. I checked the Menu > File > Pattern Preferences and my height and sizes tab is greyed out, so cannot go into it.

What does this mean please?

I have also entered my known measurements, and the same thing happens with that too, it is the correct measurement but when I link it and go into function, the function measurement changes.

thank you for your help

It’s only available for multisize measurement files.

Please can you send me your pattern and measurement file so that I can check what’s happening. You can send it to me in a private message.

Hi @sueloucam

To send the files, just click on the upload icon, direct it to the file that you wish to send & click on OK. Do this for both the Pattern file and the Measurement file.

If you wish to send it to me in private, just click on my name & select message, it will open up a private message, just like this one and you can load the files in the same way.
