Somewhat of an amateur drafter here, joining the forums. I’ve been dabbling in pattern drafting for a few years now. I’ve drafted some stuff by hand, some using Fusion and some using Illustrator. Currently I am facing a daunting task of re-creating a historical jacket and patterns for all the 27 sizes… for which I need parametrization. Hence I am learning Seamly 2D, seeing if it could help me speed up the process.
Surprisingly, I’ve ran into some issues I’d love to talk to you guys about, but alas… I can’t post links nor images to the forum as a beginner, so I figured I’d post here and ask about how to reach that pivotal point of being able to post images and links… would make asking questions a fair bit easier
In any case, seems like Seamly is a capable software and I am looking forward to learning to use it better as well as perhaps learning more about drafting in general at the same time. Neither of which have been easy for a self educated beginner drafter

That’s just a security measure that goes away once a user has interacted a bit with the forums. I have manually bumped your level up so you can now attach file & pics.
I figured it’s something like that! Couldn’t find any mention anywhere what would have given me more levels.
But thank you very much! I’ll be posting some questions for sure in the near future. In the meantime, I had to go and read some topics here, as there is plenty of information here I never knew about. Great forum!
That in itself might be enough to bump a user’s level up to basic. I’m not exactly sure what the formula is, but it has to do with interacting with the forums rather than just being a bot. When I can tell it’s a normal user I’ll just bump the level up so they can make attachments. Of course our 1st question is always can you post your pattern or screencaps?
