When I create new passmarks these are huge. I have changed the length in the preferences but they still come out huge. See image. I would like them to be like the one at A21, but even after changing the values (see preferences) they come out as before. (see A22)
While a pattern is open, the notch preferences are the default when you first create a piece. If you change the notch preferences the new preferences will have no effect on existing pieces. You will have to edit the individual notch:
Thanks, but this is not quite how it worked in my case. I created a test to verify.
I reset the defaults to 2cm length and 0,8 cm width. I created the notch at A. (file 1)
Opened the defaults and set the values t0 1cm and 0,4 respectively. And created the notch at A2.
It was created exactly the same as the one at A. (file 2)
I then closed the program and re-opened the test file. Without opening the preferences I created the notch at A1, which now has the required values. So it seems to me that closure and reopening the file is required. (file 3)
On my existing pattern clicking the arrows did work as you described.
Yes. I think that’s what I said… “While a pattern is open, the notch preferences are the default when you first create a piece”.
Closing and reopening the pattern will reset the default for the pieces. I will add to that… if you change the prefs, then insert new point nodes, and make them a notch, they will have the defaults of the changed pref(s).
It’s because when you add nodes to a pattern piece (creating a piece or inserting nodes) all the attributes for point nodes are set to default prefs… even if you don’t see it (m_isNotch = false). This is the data class for each point node:
