Measurements sync on every load

I have an issue that on loading of some pattern files - not all - there is a ‘Measurements have been synced’ message displayed on the status bar (lower left). This only occurs on some of the patterns, but always the same patterns. All of my patterns use the same measurements file and all of my measurement units are set to millimeters.

This is purely annoying because of the accompanying ‘BLONGGGG’ from windows … Any ideas?

Have you downloaded & installed the latest Seamly version?

@Grace yes I have …

Ok, My suggestions are:

  1. Save all of the patterns that are open & all of the measurement files.
  2. Switch off your computer & wait about 20 seconds before switching it on again (to clear the RAM).
  3. Disable the Pings & Bongs emitted by Seamly or turn the volume down so that they’re not so loud.
  4. Open one of the files that were doing the syncing and see if it’s still doing it. Previously, we had a message popping up every few seconds which @Douglas repaired. Now we only get the notification, which is far better. However, it is not advisable to keep the SeamlyME file open while you’re working on a pattern, because then the pattern will keep on checking for measurement changes and syncing. Open the measurement file, do whatever changes you want to do, save it and close it when you’re done. You can always open it again if you need to.

And that’s all that I have for you. Perhaps @Douglas has more for you :slight_smile:

Doesn’t matter if SeamlyMe is open or not… the sync is checked for whenever a pattern opens a measurement file.

But… I just tested… it’s not advisable to edit the measurement file when you have multiple patterns open using the same measurement file. It will corrupt the measurement file. I don’t know why. I think I’m going to need to figure out how to not allow a measurement file to be edited when multiple patterns have it open.

Thanks to @Grace and @Douglas for the advisories.

I was only curious to know why this was only occurring to some of the files, not all.

In addition the measurement file in use is linked as standard to all of my patterns and is never (knowingly) opened for editing in the external application (SeamlyMe) at the same time. Nor do I have multiple patterns open at the same time - I’m still not multi-processing capable with Seamly2D yet!
