I know that I can change the direction of Line_A3_A4 to the right by switching the 1st and 2nd line point. But how to make the initial direction constant regardless of change of other variables. I feel like the direction is determined randomly because I often have my draft messed up due to this tool after I change my measurement file.
I attached example files where this tool broke my draft after changing my measurement from Alexa to Nana. The fix is to change the line direction (at B8 and B10). For this reason I’m hesitant to use this tool in the future. The “point - length and angle” tool can replace it but need trigonometric math.
There are several known issues with this tool… one being that it can can randomly select either the 1st or 2nd intersect. There’s a couple other issues I’ve fixed, but it’s the issue of which point to select that’s a problem of how to fix it. We’ve discussed adding the option of which intersect point to use - which requires a new schema, and a conversion from the old to new. In the conversion the choice would have to be made which point to default to, which has a 50 - 50 chance of being what a user originally intended. But then the old has a good chance of breaking anyway.
At any rate, it is an issue that’s on the side burner, and once I get through some other features I’ll take a look again at fixing the tool.
