When I ask something and somebody answers use bla bla bla tool. I don’t know which tool is he refers to.
Solution Suggestion
Use numbering along with the regarded tool names.
Like Point To Line tool is tool number one.
Secondly combine that with this feature. When you hover your mouse over a tool. It shows the tool number and the tool name.
(Like in Affinity Designer)
So you don’t have to remember the tool number and the name.
Why make it more complicated by also giving tools numbers? Which would require the whole GUI of the application to be overhauled along with all the translations (currently 19 languages) and documentation that comes with that sort of change.
BTW… I will never just answer bla bla bla… I usually provide an image of the tool I’m referring to… such as:
The tools already show a popup tooltip when you hover… why do we also need a number that you’re not going to remember anyway?
Toolbox: Points
Points: Toolbar
Or the tool name is in the menu items…
Toolbox: Toolbar: Points
If this is really more of a GUI language translation not being available - please let me know. We should have most of the current translations fully updated and looking at adding more languages.
Sorry for misunderstanding. I did NOT mean you and all the forum members answer me poorly.
On the contrary Your answers are very detailed. I appreciate a lot.
What I meant is I dont understand the tool name directly. (Maybe that’s just because I just started to learn the software.)
Then I check the tool name list I created on MS Word file with the regarded numbers on the left side.
That was just a suggestion from a newbie to the app.
Sorry for the misunderstanding again, I’m not native English speaker.
Understood. I was getting that impression. Is your native language one of Seamly’s translations options? If not, would you like me to add it? If so, you can let me know what it is, and I’ll see if I can add it.
