New measurements-file, wanted to add a percentage for the amount of stretch that a yet to buy material might have. Since it might be 0 (zero) I entered that. In the pattern-file this zero value variable doesn’t show up. So I can’t draw a line that needs this value for its length. It might be zero procent in the end, but also anything like 20%. It seems I can’t prepare my pattern then add the stretch percentage when known, in order to update it automagically at that time. Yes I could enter 0,01 for that percentage for now, but that escapes the question why I can’t use 0 (zero). And 0,01 isn’t 0. V2025.2.12.15.213 Win
If you’re talking about in the FX editor… try uncheking this:

Thanks, that solved it.
That one catches me off guard too. ![]()
Just for FYI… I normally put these in the Variables Table inside the pattern rather than in the measurement file so that they are available to edit inside the pattern when I eventually do buy the fabric. ![]()
Exactly. Measurements belong in a measurement file. Anything else pattern related should be a variable. Stretch has nothing to do with a person’s size, but is rather a factor of the pattern / fabric. For ex: after 40+ years in the costume business I would never expect a customer to return a measurement form with a stretch factor on it. What stretch factor to apply is up to me as the designer / cutter and my choice of fabric.
I see what you mean, this particular set of measurements is meant to be made with stretchy material always. If I reuese the measurement file with new values I automaticaly come across this value. That was my thought-process.
Each one to his own way. We all develop our own ways of working. I like to create my measurement file & never look at it again until the measurements need changing.
ow, yeahs. I would copy a previously created one and change the values. So I know I didn’t overlook anything.
