on a side note is there a way to change my email address? i can’t seem to change it under preferences.

Do you have the email notifications switched off?
If you have, then turn them on and let me know. I’ll send you a new invite and then, once you’ve received it, then you can turn them off again.

I don’t think an invite actually gets sent. I think the problem is that I didn’t post anything on the group. By turning on the email notifications, you won’t miss when I do post something, so I’ve posted a short message on the group.
Nope, You haven’t missed anything. For “non-staff users” - A user can create a new account with a different email address, and then an admin can merge the "source " account into the new account. I believe the new screen name has to differ from the source name. Merging user accounts cannot be undone, and the source user account is permanently deleted.
