So, I nuked my Ubuntu computer & paved it with Devuan. My personal preferences/settings were definitely wiped. After some struggle, (qt dev tools are required to build qt based programs, who knew?) I managed to get Seamly running & it went straight to the void block. Huh. Wasn’t there supposed to be a welcome screen to establish some basic preferences before use?
I checked the prefs, & saw that “Do not show welcome screen” was checked.
On the off-chance that I had somehow done the impossible & disabled the Welcome screen before successfully running the program, I deleted the whole Seamly folder in .config & --as feared-- the Welcome screen did not welcome me.
