Exporting with points and lines

Hello,

I can draft and creating patterns with seamly pretty well now as it’s workplace is so easy to go with.

However, I think I didn’t know enough with exporting the pattern. WHen I choose the points and line/curve to create the piece, I don’t know how to keep the points or lines stay apperance on the PDF file I export. Is there any way to keep those points/lines on the final file?

Hello, @Camie

I always advise people to work through this small tutorial when they start using Seamly because it gives instructions on how to create the pattern pieces for exporting.

The process is to first draft your pattern (which you have done), and then, using the tools in the Piece section of tools, you select the objects for each piece of the pattern that you require, and then you need to go to the Piece Mode export your pattern to PDF, SVG or DXF.

I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any problems.

Thank you! I already read and checked the tutorial. I was about to attach picture for easy imagine but I couldn’t (because the forum said I am new user). What I’m concerning is after exporting the pattern, all the points disapear that makes me difficult to double check them while I put the pattern on fabric to cut.

For example, the after exporting the points of the button hole or the point of the pocket disappear.

Hi @Camie

I checked an your user level has bumped up… it automatically does that a short time after a user teads & makes some posts.

Ok. The nodes (point and name) in a pattern piece do not export or display in a layout. If you want a dot or circle to appear you need to draw an full 0-360 deg arc of what ever radius, then include that “circle” as an internal path for the pattern piece.

I outlined the same issue here in this topic so I’m not going to rehash it. There is a pattern included as an example. If you need futher help please feel free to ask.
