@peterh When I sew a test or fitting garment, I use a lot of old bed sheets that I get for $1-$2 at a thrift store. It is cheaper than muslin and satisfies my desire to waste less materials.

@AnnaFields, nice tip! I have never seen them at thrift stores in Belgium, but maybe because I was not looking for them. I will keep my eyes open. The price does not make a big difference, but the waste of materials does.
